Principal’s Message
If
he were still alive, Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. would have turned 86 last Thursday. Unequivocally, his message and
unwavering stance for social justice and racial equality carry implications for
today. On Tuesday, we pay tribute to
him, acknowledge the positive changes, and press on to realize the dream reverberating
throughout his honorable life and iconic speech. As an exercise, I encourage each of you to
take action, and spend 15 minutes on a social-justice issue this week. There is great opportunity—locally,
nationally, and globally to honor Dr. King’s legacy.
Last week, following the presentations of the 10th grade CWP projects, one of the guest judges remarked, “I always leave here inspired!” Another veteran judge quipped, “Today; I heard the best presentation ever! These students are amazing!” Please accept my sincere appreciation for your hard work, stellar accomplishments, and true professionalism shown throughout the first semester. Your efforts and final products are lauded by our community and the staff. Congratulations are in order for our Science Olympiad coaches, Mr. McComb and Ms. Weeks, and our Speech and Debate coach, Mr. Shiroma, for their teams’ fantastic finishes last weekend. The names of the individuals walking away with awards appear in the New Announcements section below.

Dress Code Reminder
Many
students are failing to meet the dress code requirements this year, and it's
becoming a larger issue than ever before. Please review the guidelines for
appropriate attire and remind your peers so we can keep our attention on our
education and not have to introduce stricter punishment policies for being out
of dress code.
