Aviation High School provides a world-class instructional program,
sports-of-the-mind culture, and unmatched college and career
opportunities. There are at least one
hundred key reasons responsible for our success. For starters, consider our own visionary, Ms. Reba Gilman, founding Board of
Directors, distinguished teachers and support staff, project-based focus, permanent
home at The Museum of Flight, industry and community partnerships, and enthusiastic
students. One key support that wields enormous influence across our community is
our platinum-level PTSA. This week’s message sends a salute to their leadership
skills and volunteer service.
Within
the literature about leading organizations, one of my favorite quotations puts
it this way, “It all rises and falls on leadership.” Our PTSA Board and committee
chairs deserve gold stars for their leadership and commitment to
excellence. Thank you! It is a professional privilege and honor to work
alongside them, and entirely fitting to recognize our current PTSA Board officers
and committee chairs by name.

I
sincerely admire the PTSA’s commitment to our students and staff. Their
platinum-level involvement creates extraordinary opportunities for our community. If
you have you ever wondered how RAHS provides a world-class instructional
program, sports-of-the-mind culture, and unmatched college and career
opportunities, then know our PTSA is a significant driving force
behind the success.
Each
year, the PTSA Board solicits interest about serving in various leadership
positions. New officers are elected at a general membership meeting prior to April 30th. Parents,
please consider taking a step forward and communicate your interest
to a current officer, or lend your support to one of the 12 standing
committees. They would appreciate hearing from you this week. Visit
www.aviationptsa.org for our officers and committee chairs’ contact
information. PTSA Board, committee chairs, and unseen volunteers, thank
you for making a positive impact on our community!
