Principal’s Message
I’m
excited to share more good news about our students in this week’s message. Congratulations to:
Ø Austin Fischer, who was selected by the Royal
Aeronautical Society to participate in a B-17
Ground School class this past weekend prior to actually getting to take a flight in this magnificent airplane!
Ø Patrick Galt for receiving the Blue Sky Foundation Scholarship to attend
the EAA Air Academy July 8-13, 2013 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! Enjoy every minute of this spectacular
opportunity, Patrick!
Ø Andrea Wooley, who has landed the prestigious
position of Engineering Intern at
our school’s namesake, Raisbeck
Engineering. Way to go, Andrea!
Ø Joseph Merlino has been
selected to intern this summer and
next year at Kenmore Air, along with
continuing interns Jacob Hoag, Joshua
Stuek and Austin Spores. This year they did a real world project relating
to docking floatplanes which will be used by pilots; we know next year will be as
meaningful. Congratulations!
AP
testing starts today and continues through May 17. Good luck to all scholars who have committed
to AP classes and the rigor and high expectations that accompany these classes.
I’m proud of you for your perseverance and commitment to preparing well for
your post-secondary studies.
Check
out the Announcements section for more information and opportunities. May your week of learning be over-the-top
exciting and meaningful. Honored to be
your principal—

Can you help to Sponsor A Senior?
Fundraiser for the Class of 2013 Graduation Party
As June approaches, our seniors look toward the end of their high school years at AHS. Capping off a busy day, the Seniors will gather one last time to celebrate four years well done as a class at their Grad Party...the final gathering until they meet again in 2023 for their ten year reunion! Held once again at iFly, this celebration is a safe way for our seniors to cut loose after what is bound to be an emotional day, and has become a welcome tradition at Aviation High School.
But, it sure is an expensive tradition! At a cost of approximately $200 a student, we look for ways to defray the ticket cost for each to attend. Can you help? The Grad Party Committee is asking for donations of any denomination to help "SPONSOR A SENIOR". Whether it be $25 or $250, any amount adds up, and is greatly appreciated. We have several students on scholarship, and are selling tickets for $125 to make it more affordable to attend. So...whatever your student's grade, from freshman to senior, think about making a donation! All checks should be made payable to "AHS PTSA" with "Grad Party" in the memo line. Questions, comments, concerns? Contact Mindy McClean at mindymacster@hotmail.com or 206.679.8692.
