SPIRIT SHACK during lunch in the Cafeteria

FULL DAY OF SCHOOL - student dismissal at 3:30 PM

Principal’s Message

It’s the first Spirit Week of the school year, so I look forward to seeing your creativity and spirit each day.  Enjoy…and look forward to the Aviator’s Ball this Saturday at Galvin Flying, courtesy of Peter Anderson, one of our extraordinary wingmen!  Students, please remember that if you do not dress in the Spirit attire for the day, regular school dress code is required.

Special thanks to Zach Nyberg, who attended the Reno Air Show this fall and brought back a framed poster with signatures of all the acrobatic pilots who flew in the races!  What a wonderful gift to our school.  Be assured, Zach, that it will hang in a place of honor.

Congratulations to students who were selected to attend this year’s Pathfinder Gala.  I look forward to seeing you at Etiquette Training after school on Thursday and at the gala on October 26.

Congratulations to Ms. Burr who was nominated and selected for the prestigious Educator Award, sponsored by Women in Aerospace (WIA). Ms. Burr received this award for her stellar accomplishments in taking our Career Readiness program from fledgling to a dynamic, nationally recognized model of excellence.  She will be honored at the national WIA Conference in Washington D.C. on October 29.  Well deserved, Ms. Burr!

A reminder to students selected to participate on the Alaska Airlines flight on October 17: If you haven’t returned your permission form to Mrs. Hiranaka, please do so ASAP!  Remember, too, that we will be meeting at the Museum of Flight at 6:30 a.m. that day, NOT at our old school! This is a change of plans from what was originally announced.  Please make arrangements to be on time, dressed in your blue RAHS t-shirt and with photo ID, which is required for security screening.  It will be the start to an exciting day of festivities!

Plans for our grand opening are shaping up nicely, with special guests responding that they will join us for our program.  We will share logistical details of the day with you next week.

Enjoy a remarkable week of learning and fun!  Read the Announcements section for important information and opportunities that will enhance your high school experience and college-going transcript.

Honored to be your principal—

Reba G.
